NEW IN: Liquitex Acrylic Gouache

Liquitex is known for it’s innovative product ideas; this one is no exception. I’m very excited to have this new product on our shelves, not just because it looks particularly sleek and attractive.

I’m already a huge fan of gouache and how it glides and covers without the time consuming process of layering and layering paint. Liquitex Acrylic Gouache is the newest addition to the Liquitex Professional Acrylic range.

Liquitex bottles

It offers the highest pigment concentration of any Liquitex paint, this range is guaranteed to bring you unbeatable colour as it is made with an acrylic binder. It has all the properties of a traditional gouache but with added flexibility and water-resistance. What more could you want from these 59ml bottles?

Well, its flat and matte finish makes it an excellent choice for illustration and design work. Gouache is traditionally the go-to medium for these specialties, but with Acrylic Gouache you get the added benefits of an acrylic binder.

What is an acrylic binder?

Acrylic Binder is a high quality, transparent binder made of synthetic resin. It is ideal for making acrylics.

The next-generation formula of these paints results in solid, matte colour without reflections and that will not retain brush strokes. These qualities mean that your scanned artwork will be blemish and reflection free – ready for reproduction. So for any budding artist planning on joining the world of Etsy, consider this paint as your new creative companion.

Each colour has been carefully developed in the Liquitex lab to calculate the perfect balance between the amounts of pigment used, their particle size and the distribution of pigment in the binder. A perfectly balanced formula results in paint with excellent flexibility and opacity with minimum show through, even on black and patterned backgrounds.

Liquitex Acrylic Gouache is ideal for fine art, design and illustration, layering, solid colour blocking and mixed media, in a spectrum of 50 intermixable colours. The great thing about this paint is a little will go a long way, the bottle size might be small but its capabilities are huge.

Compressed charcoal was developed in the 20th century to strengthen the natural structural weakness of Willow and Vine charcoal. To create compressed charcoal or charcoal pencils natural gum or wax binder is added to powdered charcoal. This makes the charcoal stronger to draw with and produce less dust. Many grades of this compressed charcoal can be found in stick forms or in the form of charcoal pencils.
