Introducing
Studied textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art. After art school, designed woven carpets, textiles and lace. Now a professional artist. My background in textile design shows through in my painting. My work is all about texture, light and colour. "I want people to get as much enjoyment out of looking at my work as I do creating it. in my work you will be bombarded with lots of blobs and shapes when you look up close. It is when you move further away that you begin to see detail. i want you to see things when you go back to my paintings that you may have missed the first time".

Hi Pat,
Are these paintings based on views around Edingburgh, or Oban, in Scotland?
I really like how you handle your chosen subjects and the versatility of the colours used to express what you see in paint. I love the thick impasto lines that combine a kind of impressionist approach in a sort of Van Gogh style. There seems to be a conveyance of time of day and mood in your painting too and I am assuming that your creations are mastered through the movement of the pallette knife as you weave the paint stroke by stroke over the canvas.
