I live in London and I am a self taught artist with only art education from school and GCSE work. I have always loved to paint and draw, and was encouraged to do so by my parents from a very young age. I enjoy many mediums including Watercolour, Acrylic, Oils, Soft Pastel, pen and ink, and Coloured and Graphite Pencils. I did complete an art course in 2012 at a museum in London, to teach me the basics on completed religious Icons. I really enjoyed this as we were using traditional egg tempera, gesso primed wooden board, 23 carat gold leaf and shellac varnish. I wanted to do this course for both personal reasons and natural curiosity into this ancient art form. I love incorporating as much detail as possible into my work, and often get asked, ‘Laura, are your eyes okay?!’ I love creating art and I find it a fantastic way to focus on something wonderful.
