Sennelier Extra Fine Oil Sticks are oil paints in stick form. They have a similar form factor to pastels, and can be applied directly to a wide variety of surfaces, such as canvas, canvas boards, prepared boards, and painting paper.

This set of Sennelier Extra Fine Oil Sticks contains six light tone portrait colours, perfect for portraiture and figure painting.

A proportion of the oil is substituted with a neutral mineral wax, resulting in a pastel-like stick. This intuitive form factor allows artists to use Sennelier Oil Sticks to create dynamic, expressive artwork. They can be used alone, or in combination with more traditional oil colours.

For optimal results, apply Sennelier Oil Sticks in thin layers—no more than 1mm thick—ensuring each layer is completely dry before adding another. These versatile sticks can be diluted with turpentine or petroleum for brush application. If you wish to varnish your painting, you must wait 6 months, as with traditional oil paints, for the colour to dry. Before use, ensure you peel off the surface film, which will reform after a few days without use to protect the colour.
