As a clinical scientist and a self-taught artist, I have always been intrigued by the human mind and emotions. I have in the last five years seen my passion for art manifests itself in the painting of vibrant, realistic portraiture and compositions. My scientific background has shaped my work, which features detailed analysis and representation of the subject matter, along with a strong emphasis on the subtleties and range of emotional expressions. Inspired by classical works from the likes of Bouguereau, Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Sargent, I focus on capturing the soul and essence of my subjects, creating an intimate emotional connection between their character and the viewer.
