Golden Retarder is an additive used to counter the fast-drying properties of acrylic paints by increasing the time it takes to dry, allowing for you to work for longer. This is especially useful for making possible the usage of wet-on-wet (alla prima) or other techniques which would otherwise require oil paints. It also helps ensure that acrylics do not begin to form skin whilst still on the palette.
Mix a small amount with acrylic colour to increase drying time, blending time and allow for wet on wet techniques. It is recommended not to add any more than 15% of Golden Retarder to paints, as too much can alter the paint's opacity and adhesion to the canvas.
Available in two sizes; 118ml and 237ml.
