Meet the Brand
Who are GOLDEN?
The story of GOLDEN begins in 1930s America, at the height of The Great Depression. Samuel Golden joined his uncle, Leonard Bocour, as a partner in his Manhattan-based shop Bocour Artist Colours, where they produced hand-ground oil colours.
In the 40s and 50s, Samuel Golden experimented with acrylic resins - eventually releasing popular acrylic paints used by renowned artists like Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, and Helen Frankenthaler.
Since the company's establishment in 1980, GOLDEN Artist Colors has produced a variety of innovative, excellent-quality acrylics, with popular ranges like GOLDEN Heavy Body, GOLDEN Fluid Acrylics, and GOLDEN High Flow.

What's Popular?
GOLDEN Heavy Body Acrylics
The original line of GOLDEN artist acrylic is known for its exceptionally smooth, thick consistency. It contains the largest assortment of unique pure pigments in a 100% acrylic dispersion polymer available to the professional artist.
These colours offer excellent permanency and lightfastness. There are no fillers, extenders, opacifiers, toners or dyes added. Each colour is formulated differently depending on the nature of the pigment.
