Introducing
Living and working in Dorset I am lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing countryside with fabulous big skies. I feel inspired to capture the constantly changing scenes around me, whether it is flowers in summer rain or billowing clouds racing across the sky, coming in off the sea. I want people to be drawn into the painting, to feel the movement of the grass and imagine lying in it, being taken away from their surroundings for a few moments.
I like to create vibrant, expressive work, often with very bold colours which can transform a wall. The pictures bring energy, movement and colour which can lift a room.
I use acrylics on canvas, using different techniques to create depth and texture. The edges are lightly painted so can be hung without a frame or they can be framed, white box frames particularly enhancing these colourful works. They all have wire so are ready to hang and are signed on the back.
My paintings have sold all over the world including North America, Canada, Ireland, Portugal, Netherlands, Scotland, Guernsey, Jersey and UK. I have been chosen by as a featured artist by Saatchi Art in a collection. I have been chosen as one of 15 artists to take part in a cross channel ferry art exhibition 2018. ART AHOY! DORSET EXHIBITION HELD ON CROSS-CHANNEL FERRY FIFTEEN artists from across Dorset, including four from the Lyme Regis and Bridport area, have taken to the high seas. They are exhibiting their work on Brittany Ferries’ ship the Barfleur on the Poole to Cherbourg crossing. ‘‘We selected 15 pieces from more than 100 submissions. We’ve chosen a broad range of styles and I’m really pleased with the way they all work together in the space.’ Created through a partnership between Brittany Ferries and The Arts Development Company’s Culture+ programme, the exhibition features life studies, landscapes and abstracts of Dorset. Brittany Ferries’ Port Operations Manager Jo Bussell added: ‘It is a pleasure to be part of this exciting arts exchange. We pride ourselves on providing the best sailing experience on our ferries and displaying Dorset artwork adds to this experience.’
