Every work I create tells a story. 'Hear them Speak' Narrative runs deep, Colour runs Wild.
'Karin is an award winning colourful expressive painter & multi-disciplinary artist living in Wellington, New Zealand.
Expression and movement are visible in her acrylic paintings with expressive strokes and splashes of kaleidoscopic colour juxtaposed. Karin’s work frequently shows her love of 'the whimsical ' with hidden messages and symbolism behind the pieces.
Each work is narrative. Oftentimes the narration is not obvious. If you wish to know what lies behind the idea for the work, just ask, Karin is ready to share that story with you. Some of the animal paintings are even auto-biographical.
Karin McCombe Jones was born and grew up in Wales, on the beautiful island of Anglesey. She has a Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Dance with Art & Design from John Moores, Liverpool, England and a Diploma of Art & Creativity from The Learning Connexion, International School of Art & Creativity, Wellington, New Zealand.
Karin has lived and worked as a teacher of the Arts in England, Canada & New Zealand.
Whilst living in Canada she was part of the gallery 'Artique' in Powell River, British Columbia. In 2004 Karin and her family emigrated to New Zealand. Karin now paints commissions, using layers and lots of glaze. Plus she ships worldwide.
Karin’s art is a smile on canvas. Her animal paintings in particular draw you into her coloured world of beauty.
Absolutely love Karin’s art, bright, vibrant and alive. I had a piece commissioned of my beautiful Husky and she captured him perfectly in my favourite colours.

Karin’s paintings look great on the computer – but truly amazing in real life. The colours are vibrant and certainly wild – and the expressions she paints into the animals faces – especially the eyes are just beautiful.
