Recently, cadmium in paint has come into question. Some say cadmium risks artist' health. Others say non-cadmium risks quality. But artists shouldn't have to choose one over the other. That's why Liquitex have created the world's first non-cadmium acrylic paint with the same brightness, colour strength and opacity as cadmium paint.

Liquitex HEAVYBODY Cadmium Free is not just a colour imitation, such as in the case of hues, but is an imitation in the qualities of cadmium paint in terms of colour mixing, opacity and strength. It is entirely free of any cadmium heavy metal based pigment and as such is non toxic and safe for the artist and the environment.

Thick applications retain crisp brush stroke and knife marks. Good surface drag provides excellent handling and blending characteristics with increased open-working time. High pigment load produces rich, brilliant, permanent colour.
