About Derek
Trained at Lancaster Art School, Derek started his career managing a design studio in Rotherham before spending 25 years at the head of the HND Design Course at Sheffield College. Then self employed, the last 25 years have been spent in his own creative business, The Rabbit Patch. Derek's always enjoyed drawing and painting boats, architecture and seaside scenes, so a new life beside the sea at Cleveleys is the ideal place.
Following a hand drawn pencil (or pen) outline, he paints in watercolour or acrylic, capturing intricate detail with lifelike illustration. Recent paintings include local scenes including the Grand Theatre, lighthouses in Fleetwood, fishing boats in local docks, Blackpool's piers, and other iconic local scenes. Not forgetting the seaside villages of his imagination!

I have a framed print of yours of Cleveleys where my sister used to live. I have been looking for the one you did of Blackpool but to no avail. I was in Cleveleys a couple of weeks ago and didn’t check the Venue as I thought it had been sold.
Is it possible for you to tell me where I could find one, please?
