Granthams has been in business for over 125 years and during this time we have dealt with problems big and small, which we have overcome and grown stronger. With this Pandemic we face new challenges and we have had to adapt very quickly, following the government guidelines to keep both our customers and staff safe.
A number of our administrative and development staff are temporarily working from home and for those who are not, we are adhering to the social distancing practices, warehouse staff are wearing surgical gloves to reduce contact with products and parcels and are working in shifts to limit the number of workers in any one area.
We have, over the past 3 weeks, worked through a period of extreme pressure to meet extraordinary demands for our products and in some cases unrealistic expectations with regard to workload and service levels.
We thank you for your patience during these challenging times, and look forward to a return to normal operating conditions as soon as possible.
Updated 29/04/20: we have made considerable gains in our delivery schedules, our current delivery estimate is 6 to 7 week days (excluding weekends and public holidays).
Many UK couriers and postal services are running with reduced staff and this is resulting in delays.
Our current delivery estimate is 7 to 8 week days, excluding weekends and public holidays.This means that any weekends or public holidays are additional days.
Express & Saturday Delivery Services have been suspended.
FedEx has suspended all mainland Europe services, this includes Eire.
Manufacturing and distribution in mainland Europe has mostly closed down, with many suppliers in the UK and US either closed or working on a greatly reduced team. We generally have very good stocks but are experiencing some shortages across ranges where we are unable to re-order.
