About

Drawing and painting out of doors is my favourite thing....painting from life, anyway. Why copy stuff, when reality has all the best colours and shapes? I love flowers, trees and the sea, and my paintings often reflect that. Feeling the grass under my feet; the sand between my toes and the breeze in my hair is inspiration, indeed.... I've sold my pictures all over the world, from exhibitions and personal recommendation. Often, I've had fascinating commissions, from favourite places, houses and gardens to....a much-loved tractor! Portraits, too...and more.... And, of course, I teach....in groups, one-to-one; adults and children. If I were a fairy godmother, I would grant older artists the confidence and fearlessness of children. I wish....! It's great, too, to tutor at residential courses. Lots of those... Some of my work is here....flower studies; a portrait; seas in Cornwall, East Anglia and the Isle of Whithorn in Scotland.....

Jane is a great artist and a great teacher. Look out for any of her weekly or one-off courses and you will always learn something new.

Hi Jane,
Just want to thank you for sharing some of your watercolour paintings with us on Granthams art discount website. I like the gentle but subtle use of colour in your flower works and I especially love the seascape scenes which in contrast to your flower paintings are strong and vibrant and very eye catching.

Paul.
