July is already in full swing so you may be aware that it is indeed World Watercolour month. Founded by Charlie O'Shields, the creator of Doodlewash® an American sketching and painting blog. With the encouragement of social media such as his blog and instagram, artists are invited to add a splash of colour to their lives by producing a little painting every day throughout July. If you draw or sketch, then you're half way there. Watercolour is a popular versatile medium that has many bonuses, it can be travel size an come in many different forms; such as watercolour markers and watercolour pencils, just add water...
World Watercolour Month is a celebration of watercolor and the importance of art and creativity in the world. Everyone can join the celebration from children to artistic masters. The event also aims to provide support via donation to children's charity The Dreaming Zebra Foundation.
Take a look at the challenge list above; try one, or many and get others who haven't painted before to join in with this and the global painting community.
Remember to share your work with #WorldWatercolorMonth when posting your art to inspire others.
