The ocean covers a vast majority of Earth, naturally many artists are drawn to capture such surroundings. From crashing waves, or rock pools at low tide, to quaint fishing villages and rugged coastlines across the world.
The Royal Society of Marine Artists seeks submissions inspired by the sea and marine environments. Artists (over 18) are invited to submit works for their upcoming annual exhibition alongside members of the RSMA.
Marine art does not limit you to landscapes. Historical, still life, and figure painting are a go, as long as they are within context and in any of the following media; oil, acrylic, watercolour, original prints, mixed media, drawings, pastels, or sculpture.
Entry online here. Deadline for entry Friday 5th July, 12 noon
The exhibition will be held at Mall Galleries, London. This includes several prizes and awards, open to all participating artists.
